DLC accredited products, including LED linear T8 tubes, qualify for many incentives and subsidies that will help lower your costs as you move towards lowering your energy bills.

In 1998 the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership, a localized nonprofit organization promoting energy policies in the building sector, launched the Designlights Consortium (or DLC). The DLC focuses on quality and performance in industrial lighting, certifying products as energy efficient for use in the US and Canada.

The DLC originally published a lighting design guide called the knowhow series which was widely used by architects and product engineers as a way to keep up with current trends in energy efficient lighting and to differentiate themselves from competitors. Eventually the guide became antiquated as updated building codes and design innovations were released.

As LED lighting progressed, the DLC decided to help qualify the new products for industrial applications, just as EnergyStar was doing for the consumer market. In 2010 they launched the Qualified Products List which certifies LEDs based on a lumens per watt ratio. DLC members include utility providers and government energy programs in over 30 states who use the listing to qualify products for rebates.

DLC approved LED T8 tubes are available in 2 styles - plastic and 360°. The plastic construction is glare-free for comfortable lighting, shatter-proof for safety, and emits less heat translating to lower HVAC costs. 360° tubes are optimal for lower temperatures and shine in all directions.

Here is a list of DLC qualified plastic and 360° LED T8 linear tubes for your fluorescent retrofit project. Design Lights Consortium (DLC) listed lamps are often required for local and state utility lighting rebates.
