No matter what type of commercial building you are in -- whether it's a retail store, office, or industrial warehouse -- dependable exit and emergency lighting is vital. That means the lighting fixtures need to be able to withstand being sprayed or splashed with water without shutting down.
For instance, the WLEM Series of LED wet location emergency lights from Mule Lighting were built to be resistant to water, as well as dust and other potentially corrosive elements. The 18 watt fixture uses two 7.2 watt lamps with tempered glass lenses that are completely sealed and gasketed to be weatherproof. Additionally, the fixture's housing is also sealed and gasketed with a hinged cover. The fixture is certified by ESL or CSA to UL 924 standards and provides a minimum emergency duration of 90 minutes.
Another waterproof emergency lighting option from Mule Lighting is its Mako-3 Series of architectural emergency egress lighting fixtures. These fixtures offer a sleek, low-profile design to offer a more contemporary alternative to "bug eye" emergency lighting fixtures. The wall mounted fixtures can be used in damp or wet locations between 32°F to 122°F, with an optional cold weather package available for use in temperatures as low as -40°F to as high as 122°F. Mako-3 Series fixtures are ETL listed for use in wet locations, and they also meet UL924, NFPA 101, NFPA 70-NEC, and OSHA Illumination standards.
And for an exit sign that can be used in wet locations, consider the HL0288 Series of wet location LED exit signs from Howard Lighting Products. This particular fixture is an LED exit sign/incandescent combo, featuring an LED exit sign on the bottom and two sealed and gasketed "bug eye" weatherproof lighting heads on the top. The fixture has a fully gasketed thermoplastic housing that is resistant to rust. And it meets UL924 and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, as well as certifications from NEC, OSHA, and various local and state codes.
